FAQ
What are the benefits of retinol?
Retinol has a multitude of benefits and is a worthy addition to most any skincare regimen. Retinol can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, create firmer-looking skin, minimize the appearance of pores, and help brighten skin tone. Acne skin types will also benefit from the use of a retinol.
What other ingredients are beneficial in Retriderm products?
Retriderm’s formula uses hydrolyzed elastin, soluble collagen and sodium hyaluronate which provides better absorption and bioavailability of the retinol. This delivery of the retinol suspended in these additional ingredients leads to superior benefits with less irritation.
What Retriderm product should I use?
Retriderm products come in three strengths to best suit your skin and skin concerns. First time users may want to start with the mild strength before graduating to stronger solutions. Retriderm Mild is may be suitable for those with sensitive skin. It is recommended to apply one or two times per week and increase usage as your skin tolerates. If any irritation occurs discontinue use, at least temporarily.
Is vitamin A the same as retinol?
Vitamin A is a retinoid known as retinol, not to be confused with Retin-A, which requires a prescription.
How do I use retinol?
Retinol is ideal for evening use, as it can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. If you do use retinol during the day, be sure to use SPF 30 or higher. It’s recommended that you wait for retinol products to fully dry before continuing on with your skincare regimen. If you are new to using retinol, slowly phase it into your routine by applying a few times a week and gradually increasing the frequency of applications as your skin tolerates before moving on to daily use.
When should you start using retinol serum?
Because retinol has so many different applications, it can be useful to many different skin types and skin concerns. Introducing a retinol serum into your skincare routine before trying to address signs of aging may have additional benefits such as reducing breakouts or the appearance of pores in addition to visibly reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
